The Istana is the official residence of the President where he receives and entertains state guests. The entire domain occupies over 100 acres and is located along the busy Orchard Road. The Istana grounds are open to the public five times a year.

The eve of National Day was one of the open house of the year. Being Singaporeans for more than 30 years, that day was the first time George and I visited the Istana.

The Istana was so crowded with people and we queued for almost 45mins before we could finally get in.

I wanted to sit on the tree trunk too… but i was afraid that it would break. hahaha.
